My Story
I am a graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law where I focused primarily on trial advocacy and alternative dispute resolution. I am licensed to practice in the State of New York and have spent the majority of my career working in indigent legal services. I began my career working for a large not for profit legal service in Western New York providing services in Social Security Disability Appeals, Housing, Custody/Visitation, and Public Benefits. I continued my passion of working with indigent clients as a Public Defender where I represented individuals in Custody/Visitation, Child Support matters, and Criminal Defense for Felony and Misdemeanor Offenses.
Prior to attending and graduating law school, I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University at Buffalo (I really liked it there). With a focus on mental health counseling and studying the effects and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse, I found myself using what I learned from college and having grown up in a substance impacted family to later represent individuals who suffer from mental health challenges as well as substance and alcohol abuse and find themselves involved in the legal system as a result.
I am a firm believer that knowledge is power and am dedicated to both learning and teaching. I love learning as much as I can to improve myself everyday and enjoy teaching others. I try to not only represent my clients on their case, but to educate them along the way in a relatable fashion so that they truly understand the process and are better positioned to avoid or deal with future legal issues.
I pride myself on utilizing my client centered approach, creativity, and experiences to work toward solutions to the many legal problems my clients find themselves facing. I focus on trying to resolve matters based on the interests of all involved, but am prepared to go the distance in court when a reasonable resolution can't be met or justice would not prevail.
